Privacy Policy

KCalm (“the app”) is a calorie tracking app for iPhone and Android made by Mad Over Tech. This policy explains what data the app handles and where it goes. The short version: your log belongs to you, stays on your device (and, on iPhone, in your private iCloud), and we never see it.

Data You Create in the App

Meals, workouts, calories, notes, tags, goals and reminder settings are stored:

On your device, in the app’s local database. This is the same on iPhone and Android.
On iPhone, in your private iCloud database (CloudKit), if iCloud is enabled on your device. This storage is tied to your Apple ID; Mad Over Tech has no access to it. Apple’s iCloud terms and security apply.
On Android, on your device only. KCalm for Android has no cloud sync. If Android’s device backup is turned on, Android may include KCalm’s data in the backup it keeps in your own Google account. That backup is controlled by you and Google in your device’s backup settings; Mad Over Tech has no access to it.

We operate no servers and have no account system. We cannot read, receive, sell, or share your log. It never reaches us.

Apple Health and Health Connect (Optional)

Workout import is off until you turn it on. KCalm only ever reads health data; it never writes to Apple Health or Health Connect.

iPhone (Apple Health): KCalm asks for read-only access to workouts in Apple Health. Imported workouts are stored in your log like any other entry (on device + your private iCloud) and never leave your devices except through your own iCloud sync. You can revoke access anytime in iOS Settings → Health.
Android (Health Connect): KCalm asks for read-only access to exercise sessions and total calories burned in Health Connect. Imported workouts are stored in your log on your device like any other entry. You can revoke access anytime in Health Connect, or from More → Health Connect → Open Health Connect settings.

On both platforms, health data is never shared with third parties, never used for advertising, and never sent to us.

Advertising

KCalm shows a small banner ad served by Google AdMob to keep the app free. AdMob may collect device identifiers, coarse ad-performance data and diagnostics to serve and measure ads. Your log data (meals, calories, workouts, health data) is never shared with advertisers.

In the EEA/UK, KCalm shows a consent form (Google UMP) before any ad is loaded; you can change your choice anytime in More → Ad privacy (iPhone) or More → Ad privacy options (Android).
On iPhone, KCalm does not use Apple’s App Tracking Transparency tracking; ads are served without cross-app tracking by us.
On Android, AdMob may use your device’s advertising ID. You can reset or delete that ID in your device’s ad settings.

Data Export & Deletion

Export: you can save your entire log as CSV or JSON at any time, from More → Export data on iPhone or More → Export CSV / Export JSON on Android.
Delete on iPhone: More → Erase all data permanently deletes every entry from the device and, via sync, from your private iCloud. Deleting the app removes local data; iCloud data can be managed in iOS Settings → Apple ID → iCloud.
Delete on Android: More → Erase all entries permanently deletes every entry and tag from the device. Uninstalling the app also removes its local data. If you use Android’s device backup, that copy is managed in your Google account.

Children

KCalm is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect data from them.

Changes

If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted at this URL with a new effective date.
